چکیده

The purpose of this research was to assess the efficiency monosodium glutamate (MSG) as growth promoter in broiler chicken production. study evaluated effect varying concentrations MSG drinking water chickens on their performance, carcass characteristics and caecal Escherichia coli population. Ninety (90) chicks at 21 days age were randomly selected assigned 5 treatment groups (0g/L, 2g/L, 3g/L, 4g/L 5g/L) a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 18 per 6 replicate. administered water. Feed given ad-libitum light provided 24 hours. parameters measured feed intake, weight gain, conversion efficiency, dress weight, digestive organ traits concentrations. Data collected analysed using one-way ANOVA GenStat (version 8). results showed an improvement (P<0.05) intake daily gain 5g/L concentration highest achieved 2 3g/L respectively. Carcass liver intestinal weights increased 5g/L. However, those group birds 2g/L had heart control length. caeca reduced birds. In conclusion, supplementation production could improve performance reduce pathogenic microbes especially E. coli.

Nephrotoxic effect of MSG (monosodium glutamate) in the chicken.

In order to prove sodium toxicity of MSG, baby chicks known to be the most susceptible one to sodium chloride were chosen as the experimental animal. Almost isotonic solution of MSG, NaCI or monopotassium glutamate was given ad libitum as the sole source of drinking water. Two-day old chickens given MSG died of gout within a few days and showed higher mortality and lesions severer than those gi...

Response of Broiler Chicks to Dietary Monosodium Glutamate Khadiga,

The objective of this study was to assess the effect of monosodium glutamate (MSG) on broiler performance, blood chemistry and the brain tissues. A total of 120 day-old Lohman broiler chicks were randomly divided into four groups, with 3 replicates (30 birds per treatment). Four approximately isonitrogenous and isocaloric diets with different levels of MSG viz . 0, 0.25, 0.5 and 1.0% were formu...

Relative efficacy of organic acids and antibiotics as growth promoters in broiler chicken.

AIM The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of organic acids as replacer to antibiotics in their various combinations on feed consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) in broiler chicks during different phases of growth. MATERIALS AND METHODS Antibiotics and organic acids were incorporated into boiler feed in different combinations to form 10 maize based te...

Natural products as safeguards against monosodium glutamate-induced toxicity

Monosodium glutamate is a sodium salt of a nonessential amino acid, L-glutamic acid, which is widely used in food industry. Glutamate plays an important role in principal brain functions including formation and stabilization of synapses, memory, cognition, learning, as well as cellular metabolism. However, ingestion of foodstuffs rich in monosodium glutamate can result in the outbreak of severa...
